Add a Printer on macOS

Connect a printer to your Mac.

Options may vary by Mac, macOS version, and printer model.

Steps

  1. Turn on your printer and connect it by USB or Wi-Fi.
  2. Open the Apple menu and choose System Settings.
  3. Select Printers & Scanners.
  4. Choose Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax if available.
  5. Select your printer and follow the prompts.
  6. If it does not appear, check the connection and consult official manufacturer support.

If your Mac can’t find it

Check compatibility before reinstalling.

Verify Wi-Fi

Check that the printer is connected to the expected network and is not displaying an error.

Try a direct cable
